Why does Hopkins get props for beating Pavlike but Mayweather gets none for Maruqez?

Both moved up 10 lbs, can anyone fill me in?

Both champs in their respected weight class but for some reason Mayweather doesn't get credit and Hopkins win was the schooling of the decade on here.

    Anyone?

    That's actually a valid question.

Hopkins' age and coming off the Calzaghe loss has something to do with it. But I do agree that Hopkins gets too much credit for that win.

      Dude that is easy
the reason is cause pavlik started his career at 160 and went up 10 pounds
JMM started at 126 and moved up 20 to fight mayweather

with your logic, Mayweather started @ 130. And BTW, he moved up 10 lbs just like Pavlik did.

its because of hopkins age. floyd doesnt get enough (if any) credit for the win over marquez

I think it's two simple factors.

Pavlik, theoretically, still had enough power to hurt Hopkins; Marquez posed very little threat in terms of power or size. Secondly, Bernard was the older, ex-middleweight champion facing the current middleweight champion. It just seemed more legit.

Bhop is old. He was picked to lose, some thought by KO. And Pavlik had fought and won at SMW and LHW before.

Will these whinyass "double standards against Mr boat buyer" threads ever end?
