I honestly think that only occured around the time of Sturm onward.

At first he got **** on, but then people found out he was a pretty boy who could fight, but I think a lot of users only have watched him somewhat recently so they base everything off of that and not prime DLH which to me was late 90's, early 00's.

I'm not sure about that. Delahoya was a big puncher at 135 with speed and power. His left hook could put any lightweight to sleep if it landed and his height could give Pacquaio all kinds of problems.135 was Oscars best weight and I would favor him over Pacquiao there.

all i have to say is this......

prime oscar did at 147 to a prime tito what hopkins and winky did to tito at 160.

that should be enough. no matter if you thought he lost or not.

Well said man, Oscar was more of a beast in the lower weights.

Oscar did not have stamina problems. In nearly every major fight he ever had, he won the late rounds, apart from against Mosley and Trinidad in which he just ran on advice of his corner thinking he was up by a mile or at the end of his career.

Go watch his career fights. He nearly always won the late rounds and came on strong at the end of a fight or in the championship rounds. Back then he was known as a strong finisher. Most people either weren't watching boxing then or haven't bothered to even watch most of his fights though. Hence, people thinking Pac would beat him.

Anyway, I agree. A prime Oscar of ten years at any weight would beat Pac at any weight. He was quicker than Pac is now and had easily as much if not more power (definitely more power in his left hook). He was a better boxer, moved better and had a good enough chin to withstand anything he got hit by. Not only that but he wouldn't flag at all down the stretch and would, in fact, come on strong.

Beating guys that are easy to hit and don't have the strongest chins are a whole different ballgame than a prime Oscar. People really have forgotten how good he was back then while overrating how good Pac is now. Or at least overrating his ability to beat certain styles and fighters.

he lost to shane bcoz he is one-dimensional...
At the time Mosley fought Oscar, he was faster than Pac is now, through quicker harder combinations and was a hell of a lot bigger and stronger than Pac too.

It's so different it's like apples and oranges. Pac would come and fight. Moving forward and a prime Oscar had a killer jab, which Pac gets hit by very easily, and a one punch KO left hook, which he would also land. If Cotto hit him as much as he did, Oscar who has a much longer reach, quicker hands, more power, more stamina, better boxing skill.....etc etc, he would land it all and more while being able to take everything Pac threw and give more back.

You just can't argue some things with some people though. Pac is 5'6-7" and Oscar is 5'10" right? His reach would a lot more than Pac and Oscar fought tall. Pac would have so much trouble just getting past the jab. He doesn't slip or block jabs well at all and squares up so much that he takes them flush in the face. Oscar jab hurt people and he would land it a lot. He would land his left hook off it too.

                    prime this ..prime that....

if your fighter stepped into the ring..he's prime......stop trying to make excuses for the fighter getting beat.....if the fighter stepped into the ring, he felt that he still had it ( was still in his prime )...

its like betting on mighty mouse versus speedy gonzales going 12 rounds...

its not going to happen...your fighter lost...give it up....

delajoya never would've been able to beat Pacquiao. Styles make fights, and joya never had one. Pac will whip oscar any day of the week, and 3 times on Sunday!!!!!
