He can't take a tune up cause he said 2010 will be his last year. If he gifts a tube up in June, then the Foreman fight would be late 2010 and then that would be it, I'm sure he doesn't want that lame opponent to be his last fight.

he should go all the way his last year....I wonder who he would fight after if he starting with a championship fight first?

He's quite a compact skilled guy and I just don't think he's so suited to going up.

Wish him well but I struggle to see a particularly bright future for him now.

His best shot imo, was beating Hatton at 145. Oddly enough it's also Hattons best shot, but Cotto would win.
That fight would put in perspective where their careers would go from there. But Hatton hasn't faired well moving away from 140 but who knows.

But if he starts with a loss it may be quits sooner. He can build himself up a bit for a final match. There are still names out there looking for a competitive fight that. If the money is there and he doesn't look that bad would doubt that he hangs around a bit.

This could be a good move for Cotto.
Not having to cut down weight might make a big difference for him.

Nah, it’s not worth it. Say hypothetically he beats Foreman then he would have to worry about other monsters in that weight class gunning for him i.e. Martinez, Angulo. If he should compete especially in his comeback fight I would prefer he stay at 147 against Collazo.

                Peace.

foreman is the much safer fight then cintron after cotto just came off another brutal fight like the one he had with pac why would top rank put him in with a murderous puncher like kermit all of you posters can call cintron a ***** all you want but the bottom line is the guy can punch. i like the foreman fight for cotto because it gives him a belt and foreman doesnt have the punching power and workrate that seems to be cottos weakness. yuri is a good boxer and does have a chance to beat cotto if he doesnt come in prepared but i like cotto possibly by tko

I agree Foreman would be an easier fight for Cotto than Cintron. I don't see Foreman giving Cotto much trouble. If the fight goes well which I think it will, I think Cotto sticks around longer provided he doesn't get beat too much after that.

Cintron is a more winnable fight for Cotto than Foreman, IMO. Both are too tough coming off his brutal loss to Pac. At least with Foreman he's not going to get stopped.
