how long did Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins stay in the Super Middleweight division for one, Joe Calzaghe stayed in this division all his career. Funny how Bernard Hopkins only had the ****ty WBA belt here why didnt he go after the real Super Middleweight champion till he was ancient???

Roy Jones was not at Super Middleweight when Calzaghe was a know fighter in the US. Neither did he call him out.

Clearly but was Joe really prime? I just don't like when ppl make it out to be that Joe was this young up and comer cherry picking this old shot fighter when Joe was a veteran champion and most likely past his best against another veteran champion much further past his best....

joe still had alot more in the tank then roy though. not to take away from joe's win. i just can't give joe the praise so many other people can give him.

I'm confused with the comparison, cheating is cheating. Cortez did him self no favors in either fight imo. Floyd did use his elbow on a number of occasions, but Hatton should of kept away from the wrestling.

you can't deny that his legacy has been diminished... the fight with Roy means ass right now, Jeff Lacy -- ass, his strongest opponents are Bhop, Eubanks and Kessler
We saw what happened to kessler when he fought a true boxer. Some argue that Bhop actually won that fight. For the record I don't think Bhop won, but he was sure close. His activity level dropped in the later rds, that's what killed him (but that's neither here or there). Bhop was 43 when they fought. Not saying that Bhop wasn't good at 43 but you surely can't consider that his prime. As far as Eubanks goes, he was good but not great. He also fought Eubanks at the tail end of his career. So, best of SMW of all time... probably so, but to keep things in perspective.. his resume isn't anything to brag about. As far as being an ATG he probably ranks somewhere 90-100

Agree he had more and could still be fighting if he wanted but that is his choice if he feels he is on the downslide and doesn't want to risk his health.....its just how he dominated Roy in Roy like fashion that was so impressive, but certainly not the best version of Roy.
