That's why I wanted the link so I could see if the research was systematic, unfortunately it's not.500000 people voted on a site, the 500k are not representatative of a world population. Some people can vote more than twice, all you do is register your email,I've already voted. This does not take into account age differences in using the internet, the older boxing fans dont necessarily take part in the votes.Philipinos vote more for their fighter just the way they do on this site.
In short that title Manny got is hog wash and any analytical person would not even make reference to it in a debate,it's not conclusiveAccording to the article (script) - According to the World’s Greatest Ever Boxer’s website, fans worldwide were given the chance to vote for their greatest ever fighters in the eight traditional weight categories. They were made to choose from a shortlist of nominees selected by a jury of boxing analysts - Al Bernstein, Tom Hauser, Ron Borges, Jean-Philippe Lustyk and Colin Hart.

Is this a FACT or a PREDICTION?If Roach doesn't believe Manny can knock Floyd out then there
is no way Manny wins a decision against the defensive, counter
puncher in Floyd. A man that has a safety first style, prefers
to fight for points and get a decision. Manny has been so dominate
in his last fights with the style he has been using, I don't believe that
Roach can implement a whole new strategy to counter and nullify
the strategy Floyd has been using his whole career that has gotten
him this far undefeated. Manny is going to lose on March 13th
and Freddie Roach knows it.Comment

Internet use is limited in some countries even though their people love boxing and so their opinion is limited on that poll. The use of world therefore becomes invalid in such an arguement.
The majority of middle aged and older boxing fans who actually watched Ali and other fighters dont like using the internet and so they didnt vote.
The system is open to abuse and there is evidence that many people from the Philipines embarked on campaigns to vote for Manny and some voted more than ones therefore the results are invalid.
The panel itself is highly dubious for even considering Oscar DelaHoya a man who hardly won a big fight to be voted for.
The results from such a poll are basically meaningless because they are not representative. The majority of participants are the you tube generation whose knowledge of boxing history is highly questionable.Last edited by Robert Mugabe; 12-16-2009, 05:23 AM.Comment

Dude internet is the most realistic & productive way of conducting POLLS. Plus the fact that there is a jury/committee that shortlisted the candidates. So you can't say that, that particular poll was meaningless. Don't tell me that you are more credible that those jury, are you? Here are some of the limitations:
