Holmes is a top 10 HW. He doesn't get as much credit after riding in when the HUGE legends of the 70's were fading out. And for beating Ali, I think the public had a lot against him.

I still think he died for a split second when Earnie Shavers dropped him. P4P best KD ever for a fight where the guy getting KD'd still won. Jesus, Holmes had chin on him.

so...Ali was old as **** with parkinsons disease when Holmes decided to fight him...and holmes couldn't manage to knock him out....that says it all....holmes = overrated

He was not better than Ali, he was more of a technician though.

More among the more general public, but among boxing circles, he's generally rated pretty high in HW history. I usually see him ranked in the top 5...in the top 10 about 99% of the time.
