I don't know, maybe frustration? I remember Duran saying it was stomach cramps in an interview right after the fight. I think that's just BS though, he was always pissed at Leonard's pretty boy image.

I think he quit because!! of how much heart and determination he has. A guy like Duran wants to beat the **** out of you and can be frustrated because of that, essentially the opponent can use his willingness to beat you up against him.

Plus, there's the stuff about cramps and having to lose a lot of weight.

Yup, Leonard was another cherry picking master. His brother had went down to Panama and seen how fat Duran had gotten after their first fight. He went back home to Maryland and told Ray about it. The next day Leonard got with his advisors and told them to make the fight ASAP. Duran took it right away cause he needed the money and Leonard knew this thus not allowing DUran enough time to train and lose the weight properly. The rest is history. That victory is tainted since we all saw what happened when they were both at 100% and healthy. Duran whooped his ass. Leonard talked about all of this in his documentary. He even said something similiar about the Hagler fight where he saw Hagler was starting to slip and that's the ONLY reason he took the fight. What a *****.

He says in spanish, "No peleo mas no el payaso"
Meaning, "I'm not fighting this clown anymore"

He did an interview explaining it, in Behind the Glory: Sugar Ray Leonard

WTF? Man Duran is a warrior just like any other boxer who steps into the ring. Boxers show tremendous heart, ability, and resilience when they fight, and lace the gloves. TS is the only ***** in here. What a ***** to call a boxer a ***** when TS couldn't even dream about showing the amount of heart that guys like Duran showed when they fought. TS biggest challenge is coming up with a way to degrade other boxers, and typing that **** up. TS=*****
