In recent memory, Roy Jones's talent was so far beyond everyone else that he didn't need technical boxing ability, he blows Mayweather Jr. away in that aspect.
Not his skills, those are learned and have nothing to do with his size. I am speaking exclusively about physical attributes and how he would fight at Wlad's size. If you can't do that then scale Wlad down to WW making him Floyd's size. How would he go about his attack without such a height advantage over opponents? He may have to learn different techniques to hit and not get hit yes? or better yet lets just make them 6'1" LHWs and how do the LHW versions of both do against eachother? Their similarities has much to do with their cautious mindsets and overall objective and belief in the method of how to win a boxing match.
they are both cautious, I guess, but Wlad without his overwhelming size and height is mad vulnerable. His skills are an afterthought next to his massive size, reach, and height.
Like.. a WW 5'7 147 Wlad would be handled by several top WW's. (Mosley, Pac, Floyd, probably Cotto) Whereas a HW Floyd 240 and still in peak condition would own the ****in world
If both were LHW, and floyd wasn't a 5'7 comparative midget. Floyd's superior skills and technique would win the day, I've no doubt about it.
Wlad might try to adapt, but if you just take him, and say *poof* you are 147 and 5'7, he would need to start his boxing career over again basically
the hypotheticals are getting pretty outlandish here
That's why I like Floyd, not because he drives nice cars or swaggers around with chains etc, but because he is skilled, talented, he backs up his words and he trains harder and smarter than anyone in the game.
What a fighter, and none of the bull**** on these boards can detract from the fighter he is.
Me too he trains so hard that he inspires me to work hard. And if a person never train a **** in boxing would really understand it at all.

James Toney, he showed what an amazing fighter he was in the Jason Robinson fight and the Barkley fight.
James Toney is very talented espiecally when a person started boxing late. but he lack work ethic.

Right now? Pac is the only one you could argue.

Roy Jones doesnt use the techincal stuff but he does know it very well. Learn so much from his commetator reporting at HBO.
talent will take you some place in boxing but that does not change you need to work hard. There are alot of people having very strong punch but they dont train very well and lack stamina and mental edge

Well Wlad at HW has the power to potentially ko any human who ever existed.....if we scaled him down to ww he would still be a very hard hitting ww and I presume very fast as he is fast for a man his size......Floyd scaled up to HW wouldn't be stopping everyone and maybe not even as good as Wlad is a HW as Floyd does not have bone crushing power at ww.......so what we have in the end is a powerful faster ww Wlad who if he gets clipped is going down and a HW Floyd with great speed and defense but not the power to put everyone to sleep. I don't how I got to all of these hypothetical
versions of both fighters but at their sizes in reality they do have some similarities because of their mindsets and several minor differences because of their contrasting physical makeups.
