it's incredible at the same time how some mma top fighters were able to adapt the ''pacquaio power'' while mayweather's superior technique in defense is nowhere near being adapted.:wt:

the moment a fighter use a shoulder roll, what happens next is he would be wrestled down for an arm lock.....

mayweather's skills is only his, and it's for pure boxer only.... it is something that cannot be adapted by any fighter... you need to be special to be able to do it.

and mayweather.... that's how special he is.

Will never be used in MMA.

Also it makes it super easy to take you down (on your back) and choke you easily because if you shoulder roll in mma its obvious u don't know what you are doing on the ground and will get chocked. Easily.

Shoulder would get you killed in MMA
Actually the shoulder roll can be adapted just fine in mma. It leaves 1 arm low to defend against takedowns while defending any strikes that may be thrown. You just wouldnt be able to lean backwards with it like FLoyd does or it will leave you off balance.

But yeah, shoulder roll and conventional boxing stances don't work well in MMA. Leaves you too open to takedowns and leg kicks.

....feinting to one side and throwing an overhand is not exclusive to pac at all, its his signature move, but hopkins does that **** all the time. He did it against tarver when he knocked him down that fight. though that was more of a straight, it was setup the excact same way

regardless as for the thread, first of all, how many boxers actually employ the shoulderroll? successfully? maybe 2 or 3, its difficult period, you cant just get in the stance and expect it to work. You probably never saw this fight, but when fernando vargas fought javier castillejo he employed it and it looked ****in awful.

for it to work you have to be not just fast or atheltic, but you have to properly anticipate, its not easy, there is a reason why people mostly fight in an orthodox or southpaw rhythm, just because it comes natural for guys like toney and mayweather, i sincerely doubt these MMA guys could even hope to use it.

not to mention, the shoulder roll is to anticipate PUNCHES, not ****in kicks.

Mayweahthers superior technique and style cant be ****in emulated, if it could, dont you think there would be a few more like him if not just as good?

Who will use mma bull**** in a sword fight, or Pacquio power in a shootout?

Mayweathers shoulder-roll granted him a multi-million dollar career and a perfect undefeated record in the sport Boxing. If he got into some trouble, hed probably use that multi-million dollar entourage that was aquired via shoulder roll to *** up the poor bum who decided to start **** with him.

I saw a muay thai fight once where one of the guys was trying to shoulder roll, he did it pretty decently I guess. I'd imagine it'd look atrocious in an mma fight though
