Has Paulie finally figured it out? Is he better than ever?

Paulie was in such control last night. Juan Diaz came back a little at the end, but Malignaggi had already sealed it. I was impressed.

I also couldn't believe how much better his power is now. And it's not because Diaz has a bad chin. He's actually throwing the right hand with some frequency and power. A year or two ago, it was more common that a lock of Paulie's hair would hit you than a right hand. He actually hurt Diaz several times last night.

It was apparent that Paulie isn't used to hurting his opponent. How do you hurt a guy and then not even bother to follow up? Paulie has to gain confidence in his finishing ability or he'll never KO anyone. If he had kept the pressure on Diaz, I feel he could have TKOed him.

As for Diaz. Time to take a break. He's still young and a year off might do him some good. He's already accomplished a lot but I think he needs to take a year or so to rededicate himself and change things around.

As for Paulie, what's next? Has he finally figured it out? Is this the best Paulie Malignaggi has ever been?

I vaguely remember many of his past fights, but a while back, he did hit harder. Maybe he hurt his hands or something. But i think you're right. He did hit harder in the past. When he turned pro he was still ok, but not great. But he seemed to soften up as time went on. Makes me wonder why now...Good question.

And Dans, yeah, Paulie blew it big time showing off when he hurt Diaz. i think he was just as surprised as anybody. But that showboating when he had him in trouble instead of going in for the kill cost him a ko, i bet.

Dumbass Paullie...lol. He really gloated to in the post fight interview. But ya gotta give him some credit, he did deliver, though i got bored occassionally watching him dance so much. He ain't the most exciting boxer to watch...

Diaz is done....he needs to stick with his schooling...

he can't make 135 and anything above 135, he looks horrible...he never had the power and his 'volume' punching would be ineffective against fighters in higher weights

**** paulie...i hope he falls off a cliff

Paulie can give people problems with his style alone but apparently he'll never be able to punch...I think he could beat Urango but idk bout the rest at 140...

Good question. I've noticed this to be a trend with cross dressing ****. First Corley against Cotto and now Malignaggi against Diaz. It's like they're scared they'll break a fingernail.

I still have to take my hats off to Diaz for trying to gut it out though outgunned in the speed/skill department. He’s still likable and he puts education first so as one poster said he should just stick with school and live off his equity.

                  Peace.

Yeah Diaz has enough going for him outside the ring. Good guy.
