    Is Ronnie Shields on crack?

First he tells Diaz to take a round off, then he tells Diaz that he has to bumrush Paulie. The very next round he tells Diaz that he's "Just rushing in". Thats what you told him to do Ronnie..

    Is Ronnie Shields on something?

Horrible corner for Diaz, I feel sorry for him.

Diaz got hurt, so shields told him to take a round off and box.

Diaz was behind, so shields told him to bumrush Paulie.

Paulie didn't really hurt Diaz that much. He showboated too much to take advantage of Diaz getting stunned.

Taking a round off just 'cause you got stunned is horrible advice.

Then Shields contradicts himself by telling Diaz that he's "rushing" in the round AFTER Shields told him to do just that.

It was a bad corner tonight for Diaz.

        dude, shields knows his fighter.

when shields said bumrush, obviously he meant behind the jab, not just rushing in. come on man. give shields some credit. he's a real boxing trainer and you're just a poster on a message board.

ronnie shields is a good trainer but when he told juan to bumrush paulie he meant for him to do it behind the jab ? lol

          BUMRUSH

The act of attacking someone or something with the reckless abandon and fervor of one who has nothing to loose.
To attack someone or something by wildly charging them full force with no sort of tact or skill other than one's own momentum and possibly the backs and sides of their fists as they randomly flail them out of rage, but certainly consisting of no precisely swung blows.

I thought the taking the round off advice was spot on. Harold Letterman is a ****in idiot.

Diaz just got rocked by Paulie... he wasnt hurt bad but when a featherfisted puncher hurts you, you should take a break and regain yourself

seriously, what the hell? I thought Shields' corner advice was spot on, whats up with these people?

maybe because Lederman made that 'bad advice' comment after the round Diaz was hurt in...?

I dont know, I think taking some time off after being hurt is a good plan, and working your way inside with lots of pressure and behind the jab seems like a damn good plan to me...
and thats what Ronnie was saying since the end of the first round, so...

OBVIOUSLY he wanted diaz to put more pressure on paulie, but by setting it up with the jab. SHIELDS WAS BEGGING FOR THE JAB SINCE THE FIRST ROUND!!!

I give Shields a ton of credit, but it was just abnormally bad advice. Maybe it was the way he said it. Bumrush to me means run in there face first and start swinging.

Which is why I question if Shields had an off night or if he's on something. I think his advice was confusing the hell out of Juan.

if he wanted him to do it behind the jab he would have said pressure him behind the jab! i'm not claiming to be an expert in any way but dont pretend that you can read shield's mind on what he "really meant" .
