Which is why I question if Shields had an off night or if he's on something. I think his advice was confusing the hell out of Juan.
yes, it was the way he said it that threw you off.

obviously he wanted diaz to use the jab to set up his punching. he was asking for it all night. i dont' have to be a telepath to know that.

he very clearly said 'put more pressure on him' and 'use the jab to fight your way in'(although probably not in those exact words).

I mean, very clearly. and multiple times.

you guys heard 'bumrush' once and are going crazy about it, just because he used an unconventional term once in a highly stressful situation.

Shields should have said what he wanted to say in a better fashion.

It was clear that Diaz understood it the way I did by the way he followed through and the way Shields scolded him for it in the next round.

The words were.. "You gotta bumrush the guy, stop waiting around on the outside"

You pretty much can't say "bumrush the guy" then turn right around and say "don't rush the guy"

Pavlik's trainer caught nine kinds of **** for his advice, but I didn't see anyone coming to his rescue with all this "he's a professional trainer, you're just a poster" bull****. So spare me.
