Is it crazy for me to think that B-Hop can beat Chad?

people have been saying that for 10 years now about hopkins and it hasn't occurred yet, so using that logic is based entirely on "what if hopkins gets old on the day of the fight."

His skills have deteriorated, he looked like crap against Howard Eastman, both Taylor fights, Winky Wright, and Calzaghe.

No...if he can neutralize Chad's offense well he could give Chad a lotta problems...

It'd be a difficult fight for Bernard tho...

so you're cool with Chad fighting somebody who's on the slide?

And yet he still beat the **** out of pavlik and tarver between those fights? So that doesn't make sense - he has skills for some fights but not others?

Those fights were more about style match ups than anything else, not that his skills were no longer there. Against Calzaghe and Winky he clinched to frustrate his opponent, that IS his gameplan against certain types of fighters, not because he doesn't have skills.

His stamina and reflexes have suffered but he's still Bernard...

Taylor and Calzaghe were bad style matchups...

Bernard struggles with quick handed fighters who have high outputs...in his prime he could overcome them...now its a close fight...

A 38 year old Roberto Duran looked like he was in his prime when he beat Iran Barkely. A 40+ year old Larry Holmes looked young when he beat Ray Mercer and he didn't look too shabby against Holyfield. Great boxers who are past their prime will have their moments, but it's only a matter of time until Hopkins can no longer pull the trigger.

And your logic is ignoring that he is going to get old thats undeniable so long as he keeps fighting , he looked old last fight I reckon he is ready to lose big if he makes the wrong move , I see Dawson having target practice , its logical to think Bhop dont want a slick fast fighter at this stage of his career

Bernard would try to cheat his way to a win. He was even headbutting Ornealas quite a bit. 'Nard is a very dirty fighter.
