    hmm

It wasnt dumb..all I said was that he shouldnt be added to this list cause to hear it from all his worshippers, he..GREAT MAN THAT HE WAS, never really had to dig in from behind and rely on heart to pull him thru a fight. Got it? Tarver and Johnson didnt count, and I made that clear in the first post..so who did he fight that nearly had him beat, until his big, massive heart pulled him thur?
Jones showed heart in the first Tarver fight, and plenty of it. Even once still counts. No one ever disagreed with you that Roy should not be placed above guys like Ward in the heart department, but your original post seemed to discredit Roy unfairly for what happened to him in his last two fights.

Actually, my original post said "OTHER THAN Jones and Tarver"..remember? As for 'discrediting Jones..oh well, thats another story all together! (oh, I'm glad you mentioned him needing to use 'heart' against Tarver the first time around...I made my very first post here saying something along the lines that at BEST Jones deserved a draw in that fight..so in a way I agree with you on that point)

jones will not be thought of in the same way as other great fighter's like ali, because of the way he lost, not because of the way he won, boxers usually gain more respect in defeat than what they ever achieve winning. if he had of took a beating for twelve rounds and shown heart he would have got a lot more respect, but the way he lost his last two fights would indicate that he never had a truly great chin or heart, and that he is just a mere mortal in those respects

          lol

What you just said is a perfect example of the ALi love fest. Ali was embarrassed and sadly abused by Spinks, Berbick, and Holmes late in his career. The only reason it doesn't matter for you is becuase you like Ali...end of story.

I'm trying to give you every benefit of the doubt but have a tough time taking serious anyone who would compare Roid to Ali.
Ali, who fought EVERYBODY that was available with NO hesitation is in a different catagory than Roy who "negotiated" his way out of many fights thus robbing the fans of an opportunity to rate him honestly.

everyone here knows i'm a roy fan. but even i have a hard time comparing roy's accomplishments to ali (or sugar ray robinson for that matter)...the only thing i have roy over these guys is his talent and physical abilities...
