Castillo you could argue, when he fought Floyd, was the best of all of the above.

Achievements wise Barrera and Morales are better than Castillo / Corrales, but we're not talking achievements here. I believe Castillo is the best of the bunch. He was the truth in his prime at lightweight.
but to offset that barrera was at his peak when manny beat him.

the undisputed king of his division and top 3-4 p4p. plus manny was moving up in weight to fight him the 1st time.

morales wins was when erik was past prime but he wasn't shot 'til the 3rd.

I tend to agree as his toughest fight, but not the best fighter he faced. According to Roger Mayweather, in an interview before the Pac/Hatton fight, it took his nephew 5 rounds to figure out Hatton's style.

Corrales was way more versitile than Hatton. He could box when he wanted to. Don't judge Corrales by the Castillo fight. He fought that way in that fight as a machismo thing. That's why Corrales was a fan's fighter.

Corrales was weight-drained, the man person responsible for putting Floyd on the map = DLH...that is the best fighter on Floyd's resume, same as in Pacquiao's.

That face first brawler who was able to beat Casamayor, Freitas, and Castillo.

Oh yeah Derrick Gainer too. So we know he handle skilled boxers.

              Diego-Casamayor, Freitas, Castillo, Gainer

              Ricky- Collazo, Malignaggi, Tszyu

              Corrales was better then Ricky.

By the way the best fighter on his resume is Marquez.

those fights made pacquiao and floyd big names.

that wasn't their best wins though.

corrales was a monster at 130 and floyd was the underdog.

barrera was the king of 126 and pacquiao had to come up to challenge him.

                those were better wins.

Agree. Barrera was at his peak. But so was Castillo when Mayweather fought him. I weigh those wins about equal.

I think some people forget how good Castillo was, simply because he has been a disappointment at the END of his career.

castillo was the cream of the crop at 135.

barrera was considered the greater/better fighter at the time though.

                      i don't think it's equal in achievement.

                      people like names. even historians.

20 years from now , right or wrong , people will consider the morales/barrera wins superior to castillo/corrales.
