Dawson is the title holder so first I want to know since when does the contender duck a Champion? Second Hopkins is 45 years old he can fight whom ever he wishes. No ducking when you are not champ and over 40....Lefty

Dawson needs to fight the younger guys such as Cloud, Pascal, etc. If he fights 'Nard, the combined age of his last 5 opponents (even though there'd be only 3 of them) would be over 200 years old!

He already gave up a belt to not fight him, now he wants to continue his reign of beating 40 year old past their primes guys.

Look, the logic for Hopkins to fight elsewhere is simple - money & legacy. He's 45 years old, he paid his dues. He fought so many guys in their 20's and worked his way up the latter to be in the position he's in today.

You can also say the same for Dawson not wanting to fight Cloud, he wants more money and hopkins is the only guy left at LH that could offer him a semi-decent pay day.

But I don't think Dawson is in any type of position to demand big money fights, he doesn't have much of a fan base.

Regardless, I don't know why so many of you want this fight to happen. It's going to be boring, it's going to be dirty and hardly anyone will watch it.

It's obvious he just lookin to cash out now. And at his age you can't blame him for that. If he was still LHW champ, I'd be pissed about him not fightin Chad. But he ain't. If hopkins is still in the mix then he should be an option for Dawson. If he is not angling to fight the best, what is he still doing there? The argument can be made that people still want to see him fight, then I can posit that his fights are amounting to nothing more than exhibitions since he is not doing anything important for the sport or the division.

Hopkins and the word ducking should never be in the same sentance. He has fought anybody and everybody since his light heavyweight days. Here is a word of advice for Dawson fight some belt holders.
