My only comments on Mayweather- Pacquiao..

I don't post much because there's quite a bit of ****** debates and bickering I'd rather just skip. I read a thread here and there and call it quits, but this is my only real attempt to share my ideas on Mayweather-Pacquiao. I'd love to get some feedback.

Styles do makes fights and just because Marquez gave Manny problems it doesn't mean that Floyd will- but, to me, I actually think it does. I don't see what Marquez had that Floyd lacks - especially in relation to what his style will do to Manny's.

Marquez had two close fights with Manny Pacquiao and I personally gave him the second fight by a round. It was with his ability to counter punch, usetiming, and use his own speed with his boxing ability, that helped Marquez weather any rough Pacquiao storms- like the initial knock downs he suffered. We saw that against a good boxer, Pacquiao can be beaten; and many will agree he lost a close fight that second time.

Floyd is also better than Marquez; especially at 147. Floyd is faster, has better movement, and his boxing technique is one of the best in the game. No he's not as hard of a puncher as Manny, and no, he's not always in the same type of fun fights that Pacquiao is, but he's still in rough, general style terms, going to represent a slightly better version of Marquez.

I don't think Manny has gotten that much better moving up in weight. I don't know that his power will negate Floyd's boxing assets and, to me, I see Floyd winning a UD or, if his offense is on, a possible late TKO- though that's pushing it.

I'm not sure why so many people think Manny could dominate Floyd. Unless some think Floyd is falling off..?

I think this makes sense. I agree. I see a late round ko as well. Manny should be pretty damn frustrated by 9th round.

I think he was speaking in a P4P sense that Floyd will be slightly better at WW than JMM was for Pac at the lower weights

I just don't know how anyone thinks that Manny Pacquiao has any hope of just running in, guns blazing, and turning Floyd into a Hatton or even a Cotto.

Honestly, if you want to compare this fight to any of Manny's recent it could- worst case scenario- look like a slightly less gruesome version of Pacquiao's drumming of De La Hoya, but with Floyd playing the Pac man.

I'm banking on two things, Mo**ey Mayweather's inactivity may haunt him. Even though he beat Juanita with ease, and I do believe Mo**ey Mayweather when he said that he was trying to KO Juanita in the last few rounds.

If that's the best effort Mo**ey Mayweather can muster against an undersized opponent, who was clearly there for the pickin', does Floyd have another gear ? I think he does need to find that other gear against PAC.

I'm also banking on PAC getting a jump on the scorecards, if that happens, Mo**ey Mayweather might be forced to take the lead, and PAC has turned out into a decent counter-puncher of late.

Will Mo**ey Mayweather have it in him to take the risks that a fighter has to, when the chips are down ?

My whole thing is styles make fights, and if that's true, we really don't know what to expect because floyd has NEVER fought anyone that fights like Pacquiao, and Pacquiao has never fought anyone that fights like floyd. That's why all this talk like, "Pacquiao went life and death with Marquez and Floyd whooped marquez" and "Mayweather took 10 rounds to beat hatton & Pac beat hatton in 2 rounds" as meaningless.

Look, Roberto Duran went 15 full rounds against Marvin Hagler and yet Tommy Hearns destroyed Duran in 2 rounds. What did that mean? Absolutely nothing as Hagler destroyed Hearns in 3.

So all those past fights mean NOTHING because stylewise, they're nothing alike.
