let me educate you on this....

when you hit your opponant without getting hit yourself you are boxing...

when you hit your opponant and get hit back you are brawling/fighting...

watch Pernell Whitaker for an example of boxing

    watch Aturo Gatti for fighting/brawling

    Not necessarily.

If you try to Box but still get hit because of a leaky defence, then that does = brawling.

Gatti used to be a Boxer earlier in his career and toward the end he went back to Boxing.

If taking punishment were the rule, nobody would work on defense.

The ref wouldn't have to warn the fighters to: "Protect yourself at all times."

I think this is pointless. You can't teach people who don't want to learn.

These guys don't like the "boxing" aspect of boxing.

so if you punch your enemy and you get punched back, youre already brawling?

People are makin too big a deal about this ****.

There's just a difference between not wantin to get hit and bein scared to get hit.

No fighter wants to get hit obviously.

Entertainment is in the eye of the beholder.

Right. Now granted, fighters are going to get hit by merely showing up to the fight. But some fighters are gluttons for punishment.

Can you imagine the ref saying: "Ok fellas, touch gloves and try to knock each others' block off! May the least punished one win!!"

                      That would make more sense.
