Real Test, he is not an elite yet. If he beat Maidana we are going to respect him.

He has won a fight with his speed(Barrera) and one with his Power(Salita).

And if none of those atributes can help him beating Maidana? He would need to prove that he is worth watching. Showing heart and defensive skills to beat Maidana.

Defense, Power, Heart and Speed. He can prove that he has all of it beating Maidana.

He beat Salita in one minute, there is no problem fighting again in 90 days.


Again i got to say. Amir Khan, you are nothing yet.

why are so many people talking about him then,if hes nothing?
probably something too do with him being 23 and a very talented world champion who is only going too get better

just because he is still a youg kid with lots too learn,doesnt mean people shouldnt get exciting by him and his fights,raw talent creates fans,naturally

Mandatory is a mandatory, unless the big names are there for Khan to fight then fight Maidana or people would look at him like a P*ssy.

Maidana at this point is a far more dangerous opponent than Marquez and Hatton (almost put together I'd say).

He is young, hungry, coming off several good wins including the annihilation of Ortiz. However, he is slightly chinny so I think Khan could hurt him early with power punching. Although, that said, Khan has the worst chin in world boxing today so anything could happen.

heh, why would it be a rush? that's plenty of time for an 8 week camp. It's not like maidana is some boxing genius. And it's not like Khan needs to heal from the salita fight.

if he vacates, its gonna look like a duck, especially because maidana brings that big punch, similar to prescott.

I wouldnt totally agree with you but i do think Maidana at this stage is a better fighter/challenge than a Hatton fight, JMM would beat Khan at 140 IMO..

I personally feel JJM is done and would be wrecked by someone like Maidana or Khan. 4 brutally hard fights in a row (Pac, Casa, Diaz, May) when he was already showing signs of age. He is 37 now and is looking for one last big payday before going out IMO.

I also feel Khan can do a job on him but Khan is chinny and i want to see him face adversity and see how he takes it, Maidana is no push over and he would pressure Khan for 12 rounds and i think thats where Khan would slip up and get himself knocked out.

It would be a shame if they vacate the title because of maidana because people would talk about it in 10 years to come, Just like everyone remember how Naz didnt fight JMM who was his mandatory back then.
