he has an exciting style. pac always had a built in fanbase, but when everyone was able to see how exciting he was, he was able to build an even bigger and better base.

Very few ring tacticians have ever been largely popular. Pernell Whitaker was never a draw outside of ******ia and was hated in nearly every boxing circle, he was called a runner, coward, etc. I remember this very vividly. Whitaker ALWAYS fought the best, but he was arrogant and talked alot of trash and does one thing floyd doesnt do in the ring, which is clown around and taunt, something floyd rarely does.

People say they would "love floyd jr if he was just humble" or "love him if he fought the best"

but when he was this way...people largely didint care outside of the hardcore, again, whitaker ducked nobody and had great fights, but he was never universally loved.

however a fan friendly style like JC Chavez was embraced by lots of people.
