Before the fight he should have clearly instructed to circle away from pac's left as he had already destroyed Barreras with that in Texas.

I look at the trainer not just what they do in the gym but also the advice during fights. ROach has excellent common sense. He had pac go for the Ko against Barreras since he knew they were in Texas and who knows how the score cards would turn out?

Remember the Chris John fight? JMM beat Chris John easily. But the judges in indonesia gave it to John. Nacho should have told him we need to go for the KO as we are very far from home.

Mcgirt helped revive the little of what Gatti had in his career by having him win a title at 140. He did used a great plan against Wladimir Klitschko when Brewster beat him. Which was basically have him get tired and punch himself out. Mcgirt did win trainer of the year from the Boxers Writers Association back in 2002. James Buddy Mcgirt besides his son is trainning several english and irish fighters who are moving up the ranks, so his resume is not finished yet. But i still remember his words before RD2 in the 2nd Jones jr fight he said "go earn your respect" and than Tarver Knocks out Jones jr.

Nacho told JMM in spanish "you have won every RD after the 1st RD KD's and are winning"- that wasent true. He should have said "you have won MOST of the rounds after the KD's but we need you to put the exclamation point on it."

I believe Emanuel Stewart has trained more HOF fighters and champions than any of them.

Well I voted for Manny but he is far from perfect recently. He did brilliant work with Lennox and Wladimir for sure. After the Brewster and Corrie Sanders fight most thought Wladimir was shot. Some were tough on him with Jermain Taylor, JT is stubborn and dosent always listen to advice.

Guess it depends on preference. Do you give more credit to a trainer who takes a guy from the bottom to the top, how about the trainer who tweaks a current champ and makes him that much better, or the trainer who takes a fighter considered shot and gives him one last great run.

Then you have the age old argument, does the trainer make the fighter or does the fighter make the trainer.

They are all great trainers in their own right.
