remember recently as well that Mayweather/Marquez still had tickets for sale on the day of the fight.Comment

your argument is futile..You WANT Floyd to promote the **** out of this fight if you want Pac to have his highest payday...Comment

never ever have i heard that if a fighter is on multiple networks pushing a fight, hes "desperate for attention" thats just ridiculous.Comment

its amazing floyd is the draw he is with his style. in the PPV era of boxing, not a single defensive oriented fighter has ever been the draw hes been. so yes, he has to do that, his style isnt all that fan friendly. like i said in another thread, hes not a knockout artist, hes safety first, he has no built in sub ethnic fanbase, so he does what he has to do.Comment

I wouldn't even care if this fight does less than 2.0 million in PPV (MONEY IS NOT THE PROBLEM) it's about both fighters entertaining US...
If Floyd wants to promote this fight like that then that's him, but him going around every damn tv show is just desperately...I'm sorry.
Let me get this straight, floyd was chastised on here in several threads for being "so quiet" but now if hes on several networks promoting the fight hes "desperate for attention".

Pacquiao doesn't need to visit multiple tv shows to promote his fights, that's the job of his promoter, Floyd is doing that to make the most money from this fight, Pac is not that desperate for the MILLIONS like floyd is.Comment

I could careless if Pac gets his highest payday to be honest...

Pac/Cotto did 1.5mil without that many shows visitation (only 1 being the Jimmy Kimmel show) what else??? Cotto also contributed to the fight don't get me wrong, but it was Pac who was the biggest draw.
pac and cotto have built in fanbases with fan friendly styles. mayweather does not have a fan friendly style, so he talks his way up and his fights sell incredibly well considering who he is.
when floyd was beating in the early division and scoring knockouts and letting his hands go, while being mostly quiet, was he even on ppv? *** no. because unlike cotto and pac he didint have a built in fanbase he could build around, so he had to create a persona. cotto and pac are by definition, more exciting to the casual eye, so its a bit easier for them to accomplish that.
there is more to it than just "oh well if floyd would just be humble" or "if floyd would fight the best" thats bull****, like i said in an earlier thread, pernell whitaker fought the best and never ducked anybody and he was NEVER a draw outside of ******ia, and never a PPV draw. he was respected among boxing fans but the casuals absolutely hated him. it was his style people couldnt stand. im not buying youre argument.Comment

Also, the fight will be entertaining..But I think buildup and hype is also important, and not desperate, per se. Its promotion.
As for... Pac/Cotto. Here's a question. Do you think Pac - Cotto would have done the same numbers if Floyd was still retired?Comment

How the hell can Pac promote this fight if he can barely speak proper English? You watch his Kimmel interview? The guy only had memorized his answers!Comment
