Hip-hop always seemed kind of goofy to me and I heard most of it as a teenager.. after that everyone kind of acted like they never liked it, like pretending you never owned bellbottoms.

Rock is simply too vast to really die. We call nearly anything with a guitar a subgenre of rock nowadays, so short of the instrument being uninvented... the original "rock" is already dead but it was just replaced by other genres using the same band format.

Boxing will probably be around in the year 5000, just like MMA, kickboxing, etc will, which have all existed since pre-history under different names and organizations. Something as primal to human enjoyment as hand to hand combat isn't going away any sooner than sex is.
