I'll say it again - if need be, Khan will absorb and dust off Maidana's hardest shots and put him on his ass. I really think that at 140, he's more solid and less fragile than he was at 135.
The thing about Khan we seem to be forgetting...

No doubt.
He's a young dude and is clearly determined. I'm sure he'll do some great things in the future. The whole chin thing, I dunno maybe it could get better. But he has the tools to accomplish a lot: he's fast, hits hard and can box fairly well, too.
I never liked the guy too much, and it's hard to tell too much from a 1 round fight, but his fight with Salita did impress me. Roach will help him a lot to develop, too.Comment

I don't know man, maybe its because i love in England and people seem to think he's gods gift to boxing over here ( Most of my mates do anyway )
I'm happy for him and i hope he does well but i've got a feeling he's getting sparked out 3 or 4 times in his careerComment

the best thing about it was how he was able to get his career back up after a devastating 1st rd KO. this kid's got potentials, he has one of the best corner in the business and he has a country behind him (part of it anyway), i just hope he stays hungry even after all the success he gets.Comment

I don't even think it's a case of Khan being able to take Maidana's hardest shots. Maidana isn't going to 100% land clean if he fights Khan. Defensively, Khan is greatly improved. He will take much of Maidana's shots on his gloves and counter with crisp sharp punches. I predict that Khan will stop Maidana around the 6th, after he has tasted the canvas four times.
Even if Maidana does knock Khan down, he has always been able to get back to his feet. And this time, he will keep his guard up and move away from his opponent giving himself time to recover. Against Prescott, he walked straight back into him trying to engage. Today's Khan is much more defensively schooled and won't make the same mistakes.Last edited by BetterCallSaul; 12-08-2009, 07:06 PM.Comment

Yeah TS is spot on.
I mean the kid is what 22, 23? And i mean people saying he should fight Maidana, why?
I mean there are 8 other top 10 fighters Khan can fight, why pick the worst one stylistically?
Maidana needs to fight Collazo, Bradley or just about anyone else in that division and he will get his ass exposed. I don't mind khan fighting Maidana, but the thing is, after Khan beats him it will be "Oh well maidana was over-rated"
I want Khan to go after the young, prime american Bradley.
Then i will like to hear the excuses when Khan beats him.Comment

Khan is a great fighter and those who think otherwise dont know what their chatting about! There is no problem with Khan being critisized on here but it's the mannor some people go about it i.e 'his glass chin will get shattered, he is a bum, he fights nobodys, he handpicks his fights, it only be matter of time before he is found out and knocked out again' and the most obvois is because of his race yes it's true that the colour of skin matters but of course only to a small minority on here.
Khan should be getting more credit then he does get around here. He is a not bum so quit saying it and if you are going to say then atleast put your arguement forward to why he is a bum rather than have no reason at all.Comment

In terms of skill or speed, Maidana doesn't present much of a challenge. But for a stern chin test, he is the way to go. He has the highest stoppage percentage of all the top guys at 140, and can **** the best.
IMO Khan needs to prove he can survive another Prescott-style ****fest in a mature way before demonstrating his natural boxing ability against guys who will want to box with him.
Once he's got the "chinny" thing out of the way (hopefully one day), then he can start polishing off guys using his best assets - speed, pop, and boxing ability. Maybe then people will start to acknowledge.
When it comes to lame excuses, I've already laid 'em all out in the links provided in the first post. :wnk1: As soon as someone hates on his next win (providing it's one of the guys I mentioned), I'll slap that post on them and make them look silly.Comment
