That may have been true if, as Arum and Freddie predicted, Floyd's fight with Marquez would flop because they didn't believe anyone would pay to see some guy running around in a ring for twelve rounds.

And Floyd has been around for how long?

So what people are really frustrated about is not being able to watch Floyd in a toe to toe battle 'till his head and face swelled like a mellon to later pop up with giant sunglasses at the post fight presser to recant and answer reprters' questions about how he thought the fight turned out.

Wait a minute, i do respect Floyd, but his skills aren't better than Ali's..Maybe defensively, Floyd is better, but overall Ali was a better all around boxer.

I like Floyd first off. The way he outclassed Marguez left me in awe and disbelief. Forget about the weight disparity (bet. JMM and PBF) I'm talking about skills here. I believe Floyd has the smarts and skills to put a stop to Pac's incredible run. But a Mayweather win is not good for the sport. People know what Floyd brings in the ring. Floyd of late does not go for the kill and is contend on winning with minimal effort and not get hit at same time. In short, he does not put on a show the fans are expecting in a fight. This so-called slick boxing style is what killing the sport and turning off people to watch boxing. Enough with the bull**** sweet science, its boring. No wonder fight fans are turning to MMA. Only if the sport will attract casual fans will the sport gain back its former glory.

You're not a true fan of the sport so don't pretend to be. Your ignorance clearly shows that. Historically there have been various styles in boxing from Jack Johnson to Jack Dempsey. From Joe Louis to Rocky Marciano.Willie Pep to Roberto Duran. Duran to Whitaker. Ali to Tyson. The sport is still here and breaking PPV records. Mayweather is not "bad" for boxing and anybody who thinks that is uniformed, misinformed, and ignorant. This thread shows a lack of intellect and appreciation for the sport. This is a way over stated point. Floyd may not produce barn burners but there have been some decent action fight and people tune in. People keep talking about how the casual fan will turn away from him but they keep coming back. The casual fans hate for Floyd is more of a manufactured internet forum creation than a reality. Someone on NSB even said Floyd was booed in the JMM fight even though HBO panned the arena several times to show people standing and cheering the boxing clinic that was going on. People underestimate the "casual" fan.

Floyd's style is the best style out there. Even some of Floyd haters would agree that his style is smarter than Manny's. They're both two different complete boxers, i love Manny's style for entertaining purposes, and i love Floyd' style because it's true boxing. Yep, Floyd is loved by my mates, hated by my mates, but he's the only foreign boxer there interested in watching ( I live in England )

Exactly. But more importantly, Freddie wouldn't have to be digging deep into the archives to figure out a way to beat Floyd, if all Floyd was known for was running.
