Under this economy and all the regulations put on boxers by the sanctioning bodies, the networks, and the promoters, it won't.
First thing boxing needs to do is eliminate a lot of unnecessary weight divisions. Two, if boxing wants to have high ratings they (whoever they are) needs to televise championship bouts on free cable. Three, more power needs to be given to boxers and less to promoters and managers. Boxers also need a say on what network they want to have their fights televised by.
Fact, boxers will complain less and fight more if they're getting paid good. The fact is whatever HBO and Showtime is paying boxers, it's not good enough.Last edited by Boxingwizard; 12-08-2009, 06:47 AM.Comment

The fact is, without HBO, Showtime and ESPN the majority of fighters would be making peanuts. The more you pay fighters the less they fight. The fans are the only ones that lose.Comment
