Trabant was early last year, and before he even fought for the vacant title. Since then he has fought Forbes, Collazo, Urango and now has a shot at Mosley. It's a decent list for an upcoming fighter with only 25 wins..

But, do we need to waste HBO dates to see him against Trabant? HBO dates against a Mexican cop? I mean HBO has been over hyping this dude from the get go... So when people saying he is over hyped IMO that is what there mean. I was happy when he fought Collazo. I thought that was a step up. I don't think the Urango or Forbes fight were necessary. But, the Shane is another big step up. So good for HBO and him. But, we saw a lot of dates giving to him by HBO instead of giving to likes of Adamek, Donaire, Vic, Perez, Bradley. You know more proven guys.

But again, you are talking about almost 2 years ago. At the time Berto fought Trabant, Bradley wasn't even in the top 10 at Jr ww. and hadn't beaten Witter for the title yet. So Bradley wasn't more proven than Berto.. Berto was at least in the top 10 of his division at that time.

At the time Berto fought Trabant, Vic held the IBO belt and had a loss to Donaire by stoppage.. He didn't get his big win over Mijares until late last year. I think Berto still fights with an exciting style when he isn't fighting a southpaw fighter.. I think he fights with heart, and I've found his fights exciting..

Either way, he has stepped up the competition over the last 2 years.

          .
I never said he didn't have heart. I think he proved he did in the last 2rds against Collazo. And, I was actually entertained in the Collazo fight.

I never said, you said it.. just stating, I think he fights with his heart on his sleeve at times and he has gotten the crowd off their feet in a lot of his up and coming fights. He doesn't have the ATG skills of a Mayweather, but he is entertaining to watch, and I think that's what HBO was interested in...

He doesn't look great against southpaws though, I am looking forward to seeing him back with an orthodox fighter, even if it is Shane.

There is a few intangibles in the fight that I am unsure about.. and they are something that you won't know until fight night.

                A: Shane's stamina and inactivity at 38
                B: Berto's ability to take Shane's power.

Those will be key factors in how that fight goes to me. If Shane starts looking winded because he is fighting a fast handed boxer who uses his jab, it will be a long night for Shane. If Berto's defense gets sloppy and Shane starts landing those overhand rights it will be a long night for berto.

I like Berto's jab in this fight.. it's fast and Mosley doesn't have the best head movement as of late. I like Mosley's overhand right, being that Berto likes to carry his left a little low at times and isn't known for his atg slippins skills.

It's a pick em fight for me, IMO they are both capable of winning the fight... I am not even sure who I favor at this point, honestly..

An example of Triangle thoery is pac beat dlh, dlh beats sturm, so pac would beat sturm.

It still doesnt mean a thing. Ali went life and death with Ken Norton. Foreman knocked out Norton in 2 rounds. Ali knocked out Foreman. Triangle or no triangle your theory has no basis on who will win this fight.

                    Berto's overrated.

He better hope Shane is got old or is extremely rusty. Otherwise, he's getting stomped.

And hopefully we don't see him on HBO anymore.

I don't think Berto is that good really, seems like alot of eye catching flash from what I have seen and not much substance....
