Can P-Will's chin stand up to Pavlik's punches?

If he got hit like he did against Martinez, i dont he could. BUT, i dont think Pavlik would be able to hit him as much. The reason is Martinez is a southpaw and was hitting him with the right hook most of the time. Pavlik isn't a southpaw and his right hook wouldn't be as fluid as Martinez's. Pavliks best punch is the Straight Right, which i think Williams could nuetralize most of the fight.

Pavlik hits hard, yeah, but Martinez has under-rated power and the key thing is that he is SLICK & AWKWARD. Punches come from all angles, he slips under your arm and throws a looping left, feints a jab and fires a ******* jab, triple right hooks, uppercuts to the body, double left hands. Pavlik is a good fighter, with good power and good skills, but he doesn't do ANY of the things that Sergio Martinez does! Williams was hurt fairly often, but by shots that came out of NOWHERE!

Williams took a lot of flush, straight punches from Margarito without flinching, and a fair few from Verno Phillips. He doesn't cope that well with the awkward loopy punches, or when fighters mix them in (Quintana, Martinez), but he seems to have no trouble with straight ahead punches.

P-Will and Martinez both showed me that they are in a different skill league than Pavlik. I'm not saying they'd beat him, cause he hits hard and is a big man, but they both impressed the **** out of me, and Martinez showed some crazy talent!

No he doesn't. Pavlik's power is overrated. He wears fighters down. He doesn't knock them out with one punch. I would also like to see how Pavlik would handle the shots that Martinez was taking. Not to mention that he is wide open compared to Martinez and would get hit flush and more often. It's a mistake to compare what Martinez did to what Pavlik would do. Two totally different styles. Also, Martinez is much faster and hit Williams with punches he didn't see and those do the most damage. S peed is power. Pavlik is one dimensional and throws the same one to every fight. It's much easier to see those punches. Bottom line is Martinez is a much better fighter than Pavlik.

Williams threw 1,256 punches.....Marg threw 652.

Williams had 606 jabs..........Marg threw 61.

Williams 655 power punches........Marg threw 591.



Marg threw 1,675 punches (WW record) against Clottey and only 652 against Williams.

If Pavlik is able to hit like Martinez did last night, I would say Pwill wont hold long. But I do think Pwill will also catch Pavlik. We'll see though.
