The Romero vs Tapia fight was a dream fight for New Mexicans, it was for the pride of Albuquerque. A lot of bad blood going on prior to this fight.
Tapias former trainer was Romeros father, as a kid, Danny Romero used to be told to go to school,educate himself and train hard so he would't grow up to be a drug addict and a jail bird like Johnny Tapia.
I remember this fight like if it happened yesterday, Danny refusing to aknowledge Tapias wanting to touch gloves after rounds and Tapias looking at the camera in between rounds and saying "I'm your champion Albuquerque"
