train everyday, and yeah it is a pretty good age to start. Train like a beast, and like you you're about to fight some one like Pacquiao. Master the basics, run everyday, do the boxing work out everyday, oh and try to ********** atleast 7times a week, so that you can have that extra strenght when you get in the ring.

Last night when they were talking about Martinez, I think they mentioned that he started boxing at 17 or 19 and if you saw the figth, you can see he is a great boxer. Dedicate yourself to be the best and work hard at it.

                Good luck.

Thats a perfect age to start, since you wont get bored and take it more seriously, I started at 13 and got bored with it cause it was the same routine over and over, but heck i was a lil kid I didn't know that much, then i started training again at 16 and got more serious about it, i'm now 20 and about to become pro next year. I'd say 17 is a perfect time to start but you gotta take it seriously because this IS a tough sport, and your gonna start fighting with adults from now on, so train hard everyday and watch a lot of boxing fights, you'll learn alot by watching and studying fighters styles and weaknesses
