Have you ever seen Martinez fight? If so how could that be a surprise... I was actually leaning towards Martinez to beat Williams... Martinez was young and inexperienced when he fought Margarito, he didnt really start into boxing until he was like 21 and fought Margarito I think when he was 23... He's whoop Margarito's ass now if they fought
Martinez's performance was a pleasant surprise

For someone known primarily to only the hardcore fight fans, Sergio Martinez is a phenomenal fighter. He's a rare breed of fighter that was just born with incredible physical gifts: the hand-eye coordination, the reflexes, THE SPEED, the ability, and on top of it all he has a very good boxing mind. He hasn't faced a lot of names, but the entire time he fought Cintron and for parts of the Williams fight, he made them look like they didn't belong in the ring with him.
After the fight, Paul Williams called him the greatest fighter he's ever faced. Jim Lampley called him the fastest Jr. Middleweight he's ever seen.
I pulled for Martinez to win the fight, I'm not upset about the loss though because he undoubtedly got a whole new fanbase from the fight. In a rematch at 154, I'd take him to beat Williams.Comment

His ability was obvious against Cintron, I'm not saying I was surprised with his talent just the performance last nightHave you ever seen Martinez fight? If so how could that be a surprise... Against Cintron he had somebody that holds the center of the ring most of the time, so was able to float around and throw flurries... I did not expect him to deal with Williams pressure so well, and be so willing to exchange and take big shots.Comment
