martinez is a very good fighter and should have gotten the dec but p williams chin and workrate kept him in the fight and i wouldnt call it a robbery it was a close fight between 2 top fighters who both wouldnt give in. williams proved to me that his chin and stamina would give anyfighter problems but his lack of defense will catch up to him again and lets not act like only martinez has showed these flaws in williams quintana tagged him at will also

Excellent point. This fight in my mind is FIGHT OF THE YEAR! You had two of the more exciting fighters going at it. I think the decision could have gone either way and either way both of them deserved it. I hope they get a rematch.

I am a fan of Paul Williams...but people got to recognize that Martinez is a bad ass dude too! P-will is the real deal...and Martinez is also the real deal. Either guy can give any elite fighter a hard time.

Exactly! But want to hate on PW when he won. I think all the hate and ill-fated comments come from the view that Paul was being hyped up so much by his fans. So when he didnt "blow through" Martinez the idiots started saying he was exposed. They should realize that Martinez is just that good but Williams overcame him and pulled out the decision.

Your right. I still would pick Williams to beat someone like Floyd. The perfect example is look at his workrate. No way in hell could Floyd pull a Martinez and fight back enough in those openings because Williams doesn't even give you a chance to. I think Martinez had a better chance to beat Paul than Floyd ever would. Also most fighters out there can't keep up with Paul's punchrate. Williams just found a pretty good match in Martinez. He's not overrated at all.
