Don't want to sound like the novice I am. But just a thought...

Floyd wants 10 oz to protect his hands, Pacquiao wants 8 oz so he can punch efffectively. I'm sure Pac wouldn't mind Floyd using 10 oz gloves. Assuming Floyd isn't afraid of Pacquiao's power, why not give them both wat they want? Floyd wears 10 oz gloves, while Pacquiao wears 8 oz.

everyone is making a deal out of floyd wanting 8oz gloves but forgetting that at 147 8oz have only been available since the cotto - margarito fight, before that 10oz was the standard size for a welterweight fight, at least in nevada
