why isnt chad dawson getting calzaghe hate for chasing 40 year olds?

i'm really not trying to sound like a hater but it's american double standard, simple as that.

If it was just one Tarver fight then you could say it's equivalent to a Jones fight. Both were washed up while Jones was obviously a waaaay better fighter in his prime.

The fact that Dawson dorpped the belt and ended up fighting Tarver a second time is absurd.

Not fighting Cloud, Diaconu, or Pasal - 2 fights with johnson and all this as a 25/26 yr old vs Calzaghe being 36/37, obviously not the same.

he was contractually obligated to rematch Tarver. Everyone was crying for a Dawson rematch. When it comes to Chad, its damn if you do, damn if you dont.

They are both cherry pickers who don't fight anybody in their prime. Dawson did fight Adamek though. I've gotta give him that.

In addition to what else was said, Tarver and Johnson were also the best and biggest names in the division. These are also the fights the networks wanted considering Dawson isn't exactly a big draw himself and he needs a partner with a name. At this point he pretty much has to fight someone like Cloud but there's no reason he should be hated on for anything he's done up to this point.

No one is caliming dawson is an ATG or a legend.

besides, its the begining of his career and that is not a bad way to start. calzaghe ended his career with those wins you talk about and thats where he got all his hype from. who knows what dawson does from here on, but in the end, he has the chance of probably trumpeting calzaghes career.

I don't think it's that good, either, but they're pretty much the best in the division. Beating Hopkins would make him The Ring Magazine light heavyweight champion.

Eventually, though, I wanna see him fight Cloud and the Pascal-Diaconu rematch winner.

the whole tarver bull**** was HBO's doing i guarentee you.

The first johnson-dawson fight was a battle and im sure HBO was hoping the 2nd would be the same way.

the fact is that the only calzaghe fight i can stomach to watch is the Lacy fight. but RJJ looked good against lacy too and RJJ just got sparked.

Calzaghe fights like a little girl and thats why he gets all this hate.

i dont know why calzaghe got hate when he was 36-37 and fought hopkins 43 and roy 39...dawson is ****ing 27 just fought 4 fights in a row with the same 2 40 year olds now he's chasing a 45 year old hopkins..thats sad as hell..fight cloud,pascal..or another prime 175 pound fighter
