He has much more than that.

Sergio's pretty good, has decent speed, good movement and is relatively elusive. The one thing that's pretty concerning is that P. Will has been sparring with Quintana.

I got Martinez on a close but clear decision, though.

Edit: Yeah he has good pop, Cintron thought that he headbutted him.

Cintron also was a welterweight who was ko'd by margarito, the same guy who stopped martinez, who couldn't drop p dub once. Margarito is stronger than maravilla and margarito couldnt stop paul coming forward, what makes you think martinez will? And bunema has been down multiple times in his career and he is not p dub at all. Paul has never tasted canvas and tonight wont be his first either.

He might not touch canvas, but he could be outboxed again, P Will should be favored, but to say Martinez has no chance is pushing it.

i never said he didnt have a chance anyone can win any given fight night, but the question was does martinez have pop, enough to stop or even slow down williams. The answer is a definitive no. Without question he is far too weak from moving up in weight and jus not being a ko puncher to hurt paul. He may outbox him, but he is an offensive fighter reliant on hand speed and angles not really classic counter punching. Quintana set the mold when he fought a defensive fight vs pw which I dont think maravilla has the patience to do

lol fighter math, using Margarito no less. Sure proved true in the Marg Cotto Mosley triad.

lol definitive no, well you said it so now it's settled. No need to even have the fight.

lol Hmm, a thickly muscled 154 lb'er vs a guy who can make 147 and is built like a famine victim? If anyone has questions unawnsered about whether or not their power will translate i think it's PW

I think Martinez has demonstrated respectable pop, at the very least, as of late and in the fight tonight i expect that you'll be suprised about how your 'feather fisted' claims fail to come to fruition.

Martinez will certainly land some hard counter punches on more than one occasion that will make PW stop in his tracks and take note.

I'm slightly favouring Martinez, am very interested in watching their styles clash & seeing who can impose theirs. Either guy can win it's just the PW fanboys who talk like Martinez is a chump, South American, no talent, Clubfigher, wow. Annoying.

First off I said martinez could win twice in the post you highlighted so b e z young man.

Second, let me ask you, do you think martinez is stronger than margarito (take plaster out of argument, same state as when he fought williams)? Point being that if he is not, then paul will be able to go about his game plan the same way he did against margarito. I know this isn't the margarito fight, but I'm sayin sergio's power will make no difference tonight.

Third, what do thick muscles have to do with punching power? Check that out for me.

Fourth, I didnt say, nor did pw say, that he was gonna get a ko. No, martinez said that and you all are falling for it. No disrespect to south america, spain, people named martinez, guys with spray tans and mohawks, or any of the crew, but this is gonna be an old fashioned fire fight. Paul will get hit, but please believe maravilla will too and paul has proven to stand up to the pressure, what about sergio?

Well the first Bold/Italic block is where we fundementally disagree. And of course i don't think 'pretty/big' muscles = punching power.

Force = Mass + Acceleration. Obviously Martinez has some of the fastest hands in the game. Has greater natural 'strength' than Williams (my opinion) and has demonstrated to me legit 154 power with the Bunema & Cintron examples.

In regards to Margarito, using the Martinez Marg fight to justify that Martinez can't cope with high workrate & pressure isn't applicable to me since the fight is a decade old.

And with Cintron as a common opponent you could argue that Martinez hurt Cintron worse with 1 punch to the head than Marg did.

Basically you think Martinez has no power, i do. We'll see tonight, no big deal.

lol That made me laugh for real.
Although i disagree with you 'spray tan' comment. He isn't orange like New Jersey guido's, i think his tan is natural.

Btw i always wondered if Martinez is hispanic or what? I know that Argentina has alot of Euro's. Anyone know?

Martinez has very good footwork and fast/fleet footed. Southpaw and slick. The last thing he will do is stand right in front of Williams like Tony and Winky(his best wins). What Williams showed me in the first Quintana fight is that he doesnt adjust well in the ring, he was clueless.. He just relies on workrate to outwork you. Im not so sure this will work vs Martinez.
Martinez has very fast hands and Williams leaves himself open when he opens up. Im almost sure Martinez is gonna land the cleaner more flush shots OOOing the crowd as he counterpunches Williams.. I cant wait for this fight.. I smell an upset brewing folks.
My pick is for Martinez. I'm kind of disappointed that so many people think he can win now lol. I wanted to seem all smart when he did. I think he's going to beat Paul though.

nothing wrong with disagreeing and I think martinez does have power, but i dont think he has enough to slow paul. I also was not talking about marinez v marg but pw v marg, marg hit williams with bombs and he didnt slow, so i dont think martinez's power will slow him thats all. Good break down
