Like QUE said previously in this thread..

the fight would be in GREAT demand..and Cotto could **** the negotiations..I'm talking 70-30 even..have it in NY in MSG in June before the PR Parade..everything!.

Cotto can call ALL the shots here..and make it in his favor..but when they lace em..it's one on one..and Cotto can take Margarito..and I think he should..for the benefit of his legacy..I don't see the sense in Cotto not giving him the rematch because he doesn't want him to make more money..if Margarito gets his license back..he'll be getting Boxing money all over again..Cotto dismantling Margarito would be revenge in a sense of beating the **** outta him and making Margarito even less of a draw in future bouts..

Agreed. I'll add that's it's unlikely Margarito will return to 147.

Not only will you fight him again but you let him make money and basically telling him it was ok to cheat and you'll never have to live with the punishment like it was nothing.

I think that's why Cotto does not want that fight. He has no respect for Margarito and finds him undeserving going by his interviews. I can't say I blame him.

You know what Is funny, that quote you have there, is the reason why he tried to cheat against Mosley. His own trainer said that he didn't like the way Margo looked leading up to the Mosley fight...Cutting Weight, etc....

I have told many a boxing/Cotto fan on the reasons why I believe he didn't cheat against Cotto...I have told folks that using the Mosley fight to aid in the Cotto case doesn't work (if you saw any of the articles leading up to the fight-about 3 to 4 weeks before the fight)...

              Anyway-

I'm not going to get into this again. Just thought the quote was interesting.

Miguel Cotto til this day is MY FAVORITE fighter..but I keep seeing how he's quick to dismiss a Margarito rematch..and I have a gut feeling that it has nothing to do with him not wanting Margarito to earn another pay day..

Margarito was the person to beat Cotto in his PRIME with his ORIGINAL CORNER..whether there were problems or not..Pacquiao also beat Cotto but there were more stipulations (weight, rookie corner, etc) than when he lost against Margarito..and Cotto got his #1 WW position and his belt taken away from Margarito..and ever since..Miguel Cotto has been the most doubted and disrespected ELITE fighter next to Floyd Mayweather...

People are quick to say he's done, past it, damaged goods, etc..I'm one to say HELL NO...he's 29 and in his PRIME still..he's just not going in the right directions since he left his uncle Evangelista..Santiago is a YES MAN and will do anything to keep a smile on Junito's face..and that's not what Tio Evangelista was about..he layed the LAW and DEMANDED RESPECT and made it KNOWN that he was BOSS of the Camp..

so Miguel Cotto..if you don't hint a rematch with the ONE MAN who put all these doubters to multiply and discredit you even more..than I'll have to say that my respect for you as a BOXER is out the window..I respect you career and LOVED all your fights WIN or LOSE..but this is something I feel you deserve along with ALL the fans that have been with you from the beginning to the end and dealt with ALL the haters and even set some straight!...

good thing nobody cares what you think. i'd like to see a rematch, but i dont blame him if it doesnt happen. also, especially nowadays, i am very sceptical of anyone who says they are a cotto fan. all of you ***s threw him under the bus. now he wins and looks good doing it, and you all jump back on the bus.

you trying to tell me there are not bandwagoners on this site? (please show me you have a shred of intelligence)

yeah, there are legit cotto fans, but not as many as you, or this site, would make out to believe. alot of people only like who is winning. respect to you if you have been following cotto for years, through his trials and tribulations. alot of people will say they have, but the majority of them are full of ****. especially after the pac loss, people wouldnt touch cotto with a ten foot pole. there is no way you can deny this.

and yeah, i would like to see cotto fight marg. but again, i aint gonna blame him if he doesnt. it might just be psychological, and doesnt want to be in the ring with somebody who gave him a beating. idk. but you would be hard pressed to make a big deal out of it, if/when cotto continues to fight tough legit competition. sergio, williams, pac, berto, may, are all next potential opponents. if he fights anyone of them, are you really gonna make a big deal about margarito?

he could always make an aged lightweight move up a couple divisions to fight? good thing he's not on floyd status tho
