...If Cotto doesn't retire with a fight against Antonio Margarito..than I'll be losing A LOT of respect for him as a fighter..

Miguel Cotto til this day is MY FAVORITE fighter..but I keep seeing how he's quick to dismiss a Margarito rematch..and I have a gut feeling that it has nothing to do with him not wanting Margarito to earn another pay day..

Margarito was the person to beat Cotto in his PRIME with his ORIGINAL CORNER..whether there were problems or not..Pacquiao also beat Cotto but there were more stipulations (weight, rookie corner, etc) than when he lost against Margarito..and Cotto got his #1 WW position and his belt taken away from Margarito..and ever since..Miguel Cotto has been the most doubted and disrespected ELITE fighter next to Floyd Mayweather...

People are quick to say he's done, past it, damaged goods, etc..I'm one to say HELL NO...he's 29 and in his PRIME still..he's just not going in the right directions since he left his uncle Evangelista..Santiago is a YES MAN and will do anything to keep a smile on Junito's face..and that's not what Tio Evangelista was about..he layed the LAW and DEMANDED RESPECT and made it KNOWN that he was BOSS of the Camp..

so Miguel Cotto..if you don't hint a rematch with the ONE MAN who put all these doubters to multiply and discredit you even more..than I'll have to say that my respect for you as a BOXER is out the window..I respect you career and LOVED all your fights WIN or LOSE..but this is something I feel you deserve along with ALL the fans that have been with you from the beginning to the end and dealt with ALL the haters and even set some straight!...

Cotto mentioned right after the fight he wanted a rematch, then the Margo controversy. Cotto might be a lot of things but not a ducker that's for sure.

Going out with a Berto fight won't look weak at all...because when they lace em up, it will be because Berto will have beaten the breaks off of Mosley and will be a unified champ.

Afterwards...I'd like to see Margarito and Cotto fight in 2011...

Cotto's paid..he doesn't really need a lucrative fight to live up to Cotto's lifestyle..

Margarito needs it more of course..but I can't see Cotto going out with a Castillo then maybe a Berto fight..and call it a career..that would look WEAK!.

I don't think Cotto gives a **** about Margarito. He knows some people will call him a coward but he just doesn't seem to care. He believes he cheated therefore he will not help him make a penny. IMO I feel he should rematch him but we'll see money talks.

Before Margarito was caught with plaster I remember Cotto talking about doing a rematch and what not. After the plaster incident, Cotto has completely dismissed it.

I'm not sure what's going through his head though. But I do really think Margarito is a ***in scum. Especially after reading the ****m Richardson interview in the new Ring magazine and hearing what happened with the hand wraps. Margarito should be banned from boxing for life and doesn't deserve to make any more money from the sport.

Cotto is about honor and respect..so I understand when he talks about him not making another cent in Cotto's name..

but this is the guy that ****d him from a possible ATG status..his WW supremacy..and maybe even stopped Cotto from being a HOFer..

and Margarito with quotes like "If he believes I cheated, next time I'll kill him" that wouldn't fly with me at ALL!..I'd go on a murder spree..starting with Margarito's ***** ass!

I agree 100%, and that line would have me pissed. A Margarito win would have made him a clear cut Hall of Famer, but now a lot of people don't think he is.

Damn, if Margarito is talking like that, I can see why he doesn't want it . Nah, but seriously, he should want to beat his ass. Personally, I don't see Margarito being able the type of beating he did again and still comeback to win. That's if Cotto is still capable of doling that type of punishment.
