Yes, I agree. Manny is the champion. Cotto and Marg got it on with 8oz, Pac and Cotto got it on with 8oz, Manny and Hatton got it on with 8oz. People want to see a fight, they want to see fast hands flying and blood and knockdowns. They want to see boxing in it's most pure, but also most brutal form. In one of the biggest fighter ever - they cannot be denied.
10oz gloves should be worn by ~Middleweights and up. There are traditions in this sport and Floyd is not above that. If Floyd wants to wear 10oz gloves - fine, but there should be a lower limit allowing 8oz.
Absolutely not. Floyd fills the 154lb frame nicely (yes I am aware he was only ~150lb on fight night against DLH, he would be more like ~155lb now incidently). 10oz gloves and Floyd's large, well built frame would be well suited to defence, defence, defence as you saw in the DLH fight with the occasional 1-2 pot shot as DLH stood in front of him like a lemon.lol.. thats making a bit too much out of it dont you think?
the gloves thing doesnt make a huge diffrence, obviously its to floyds advantage but not as big as ppl think. 2oz diffrence isnt a whole lot, its an advantage to eighter fighter but it wont play a significant role like you seem to think. theres no way the fight takes place at 154 eighter, even if roach isnt bull****ting like i think he is.. if floyds ppl really said that its just a way of negotiating. then they'll be like.. "aight we can have it at 147 like you want, but we have 10oz gloves like we want".. no way the fight is taking place at 154.
Anyway, as for gloves: I have said that only 8oz gloves are acceptable. Manny is the champ, we need a great war, etc etc etc.Comment

Floyd has already ONE-UPPED them by calling their BLUFF and accepting a March 13th fight that they THOUGHT he would not accept. NOW he's taking them AWAY from that 144-145lb CATCHWEIGHT by requesting a 154lb weight. Pacquiao will now SAY 147lbs which is WHAT Floyd wants in the 1st place. HE set all of this up by not making the 144lb CATCHWEIGHT against Marquez FUELING the BELIEF that he's struggling to make the 147lb limit!!Comment

You should have let Let roach cum clear out your system before you replied so you could think clearly. But then again when you a Pactart there`s no such thing as thinking clearly.
What credibility does Roach has?He said March is too early to fight Floyd, then when he realized Floyd is willing to do it at a later time he switched back to March and said Floyd does`nt want to fight in march, then he said Pac will fight Yuri Foreman. Then when Floyd Agree`s to fight in March ,Roach says March is too early. Why am i arguing with an idiot?Comment

LOL. I thought Floyd has repeated over and over (R.A. interview being one of them) that he is naturally smaller man fighting with naturally bigger men at the 147 level? This is one of the reasons why PBF to Pac comparisons don't pass the smell test. Floyd is not only a natural welterweight now, despite what he says, but may have begun to outgrow that weight as well. Shut up and fight with a welterweight limit!!! And please include clauses that stipulate 2 million per every pound over that limit that way Pac can cash in on at least 4 million dollars more before they even enter the ring.Comment

Team Mayweather cant speak about the details of negotiation right now because of the gag order. As reported earlier by BoxingScene.com's Ronnie Nathanielsz, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao met with Top Rank's Bob Arum and signed off on a deal to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. on March 13, 2010. Arum told BoxingScene there would be some minor fine tuning of the contract terms but nothing that would stand in the way of fight going forward. [Click Here To Read More]
But if any of you still want to believe a guy (Freddy) who tried to paint a similar picture of Floyd a few days ago?
be my guess.
This fight was already at 147.Comment
