Thats the thing, Paul isn't gonna get much respect. Martinez is established at Jr MW, I don't understand what Paul was thinking.

Paul was notified pretty last minute (six weeks?) about a fight cancellation. he had been putting on weight going up to 160. It would have totally jacked up his body to then shift from "beef up" mode to "cut down" mode.

      Is that fair?

P Will was putting on weight for months for Pavlik, so it would be ****** to shed the weight on such short notice.

Pavlik pulled out on October 21. The fight is on December 5th...

Williams doesn't bulk up to 160 that I'm aware of and he still had time to make the switch. It's plenty fair when you consider the reward.

            1. Martinez wanted to keep the belt just incase he gets punished
            2. Williams was under the impression he was already go to fight at 160, dropping down to 154 would be possible but Martinez was fine with it at 160

Haha Paul gets hated on no matter what. He's been at 159 for months. You can say it's because Haymon wants to keep him away from Floyd. It could also be because Martinez sees no $ at 154 which he has said himself and is trying to line up a fight vs. Pavlik. We should be talking about the best WWs and MW avoiding him like the plague.

dont forget the fact that belts have sanctioning fees and boxers been skirting them. PWill don wanna pay it bc he'll gladly switch weights next fight

Nah, its what Sergio wants. If he fights Paul at 160 he isnt in danger of losing his belt, and as slick as he is I'm sure he'll give Paul plenty of trouble. I'm sure getting more money had nothing to do with it either.
