A badly faded boxer doesn't beat Clottey. He may have lost a step or two but he was far from being a shot fighter.
I swear people are such dumbasses with fighters being shot or not the same after a loss. How many HOF'ers have had losses and continued to fight. With this logic once someone loses or has a tough fight they should just retire.Comment

Manny Pacquiao is the first fighter to win titles in 7 weight classes.
Well yes and no. In order to officially win a “title”, it must be from one of the four sanctioning bodies: the WBC, WBA, IBF or the WBO. But during his campaign as featherweight and his brief stop at lightweight, he only won “The Ring” championship – a title owned by a self-interested promotional company.

Nobody said "shot". Miguel Cotta was substantially reduced from the version that beat Shane.A badly faded boxer doesn't beat Clottey. He may have lost a step or two but he was far from being a shot fighter.

Miguel didn't just have "a loss". He was (likely) plasterized. That Margarito fight was a pummeling.
And you don't just have to be PHYSICALLY faded. Look at what miguel did for the last four rounds. Was he trying to win a fight...or was he in pure survival mode? Was he willing to go out on his shield, or was he being waved in to fight?
The reality is that Teddy atlas' assessment was right.Comment
