Man I usually agree with about 99% of what you say on here but you have to weigh the risk/reward in fighting Berto/Mosely. The Pac/May fight is already going to be as huge as it is going to be and it will have to be 50/50 to get done. So there is no extra reward for Floyd in beating a Berto/Mosely. Only added risk in potentially losing(although I think he beats both) and destroying the value of Pac/May which would cost him untold millions.

He knows he could beat Judah and it would sell half way descent. The only reward for him fighting Berto/Mosely is for the fans.

Who does Floyd fight, if not Pacquiao in March or May? This is a difficult situation for him, because if he takes easy fights, it means fighting average fighters, and since they probably won't do great in terms of PPV numbers, it won't do him any favors when it comes to negotiating. On top of that, he will lose respect for taking easy fights.

If he takes tough challenges, such as Mosley, Williams, etc., he is risking his 0, which, should it happen, puts him at an even greater disadvantage when it comes to negotiating with Pacquiao.

But if he were to beat Mosley, it would change this situation completely. So, is the next logical step to fight Shane? And how likely is it to happen, in your opinion, assuming there is no Pacquiao fight until later in the year?

In my opinion, there is absolutely no question -- he needs to fight Shane in the first half of 2010. One last snag -- Shane needs to get past Berto. I think Mosley wins that fight unless he's slipped due to age and relatively low activity, but Berto can't be counted out.
i've seen too many boxers wasted when they get old. i hope floyd doesnt end up like navarette.

I think as long as he stays putting the work in in the gym he doesn't need a gimme. The only possible reason I could see Floyd fighting a tune-up would be for promotional reasons - I don't think he needs the little confidence booster blasting some hapless fellow out would bring.

So if he knows he can get the fight in September I doubt we'll see him fight again before then. However if he's not sure he can get the fight at all he might as well push on with Berto/Mosley after we've seen who wins that.

He should face Collazo/ Quintana and this should also be Free HBO. He just came off a year layoff, he needs to keep busy.
