If ducking means to you is attend to his businesses, his running for congress or in short securing his future then you have completely misunderstood the word ducking there.

@ alembic - agreed. However the fight will sell in the UK. Also it is obvious floyd really wants to go there and put on a show. He loves the British media and fans as he feels he gets more recognition from them than the press + fans in the states. He wants to show his appreciation by staging an event there. I think it is a brilliant idea, just the wrong choice of opponent. If i was schafer i would be pushing to get Mosley vs Floyd in the UK. imagine that!! 2 American fighters staging a fight in the UK. I think if its promoted correctly by Golden Boy it would be massive. They could bring Ricky Hatton promotions on board and pay Ricky a fee for promotional duties such as interviews + attending press conferences etc. With Hatton & Golden Boy promoting in tandem it would sell for sure. take it to Wmbley stadium. The British fans love a good sporting event and boxing is thriving over their with the likes of Haye, Hatton, Khan etc. Sell the **** out of it in the states and in the UK.
Or even better.....put Hatton vs Marquez on the undercard aswell as Matt Hatton vs "Insert Random Cab Driver" and Amir Khan vs whoever!!!Comment

March 13 fight date is very crucial for Manny if he is running for congress. There is a lot of distraction and I am pretty much sure, Manny is not 100% in shape for the fight. He might be physically fit to fight but emotionally and spiritually not. Arum absolutely have no idea about philippine political campaign. It is very stressful and tiring. Manny cannot train for the fight and at the same time thingking about his campaign. It is not a good idea.
Arum has only in mind is to make money out of the deal, He has nothing to loss. He has nothing to worry about. At the end of the day, he is always the first price winner awardee. Manny should not buy this Arum's threat of March 13 or nothing. So what? Manny don't need badly a Mayweather fight. He can retire without a Mayweather fight. Those interested for the fights are the ones thingking the money that it will generate and are entitled for a slice of it. If manny is decided to run for congress, they should leave manny alone for now and wait after the congressional election. That is a fair solution as of this time.Comment

3. Pac planned to run way before Mayweather came out of retirement.
4. Forget March, for get May 1st if it interferes with Pacs already plan to run.
5. Feed Hatton's brother to Mayweather if he has the need to whup somebody.
6. Both Pac and May will be ready in Sept for the fight of this new century !!!!!!

word is... the political campaigning don't start until late march. so he would have time to fight now.
Remember.. Floyd was committed to Dancing with the stars.. walking right into the Hatton fight.
So if Pac can shoot a movie and do a concert around his last fight, then he can also start his campaign after this fight on the 13th.
Which is a Date that Team Pac originally came up with..
Dont get it twisted... I respect Pac & Floyd,
but you have to question the scenario...
- What if Pac waits too long, would he need a tune-up first-- pushing the fight back even more?
- What if the buzz and momentum die down over time with the casuals?
- What if Floyd wins 2 more fights - raise his audience even more, would he be willing to compromise in negotiations like he is now?
Soon we shall have answers...
but the longer the door stays open...
