HBO and ShowTime do it all the time to each other.
Both fights aired on the same channel.

dans, you got screwed, bro. That sucks. Sorry to hear that.

But you're right. They could have shown the fight before the Hopkins match. The **** lasted 2 minutes, they could have shown it like 3Xs before they opened their big mouths.

I just hope you learned your lesson: Instant gratification > Delayed gratification.

      Versus KO dans Round 1.

      (Just kidding.)

I avoided the boards too and it was pretty annoying. They tried to pull a teaser to get people to watch until the end, but went about it the wrong way. They should have been vague about the outcome and that it was something "you just have to watch!"

Instead, they just went out and said Roy lost and THEN tried to be vague about it like you couldn't put 2 and 2 together and guess that he got KO'd in the 1st round with the way they were talking

Heck, even show it first and then talk about it all you want!

I was planning to stay away from all boxing websites today, but recently I set up a RSS feed from ESPN's boxing site to feed into my work email. so it was the first thing i accidentally saw this morning. haha

I would have been pissed though if I had waited.

Cry a river. What happens, happens. At first I thought it was a mistake but then again it took place in another country and there was no way of watching it live unless you lived there or watched a stream online.

I found out by mistake this morning but I would have been mad if I didnt know already. They spoiled it for those who didnt know. They could have went immediately to the Jones fight and showed the Hopkins interview afterwards, poor choice.

They spoiled it for me too. I saw all the Roy Jones threads here last night and I decided to stay away from the forum until today so I could watch both fights one after the other. Then, when I turned on the Versus broadcast, they gave away the result.

For the people that are saying "too bad", you're idiots for not thinking before typing.

Seriously. It was hard to stay away from boxing news for a day and they blew it for me in about 1 minute of the broadcast.

People who say "too bad" or "you're an idiot" are missing the point.

It's easy to say "too bad, you should know already", but you're not thinking about casual viewers and fans. If I'm a sports fan just flipping through the channels, there's a good chance they DON'T know what happened. Why would you alienate potential viewers by giving the results right away.

It would've taken 2 minutes out of the begininning of the broadcast to show the fight and you could have even shown it again after the Hopkins fight.

Some people here are saying "that's how they had it set up, to show the Jones fight last". Okay, but doesn't a network like Versus understand the idea of changing on the fly? Given the length of the fight, it was a massive blunder to reveal the result before everything began.

So all you people saying "too bad" or "stop crying", think before you talk.
