    Jones stoppage too soon

Jones was clearly hurt, but he was covering up, he took some shots, held on, green was getting tired. This maybe jones would have gotten ko'd later, but that stoppage was too soon.

I know that ref's are to protect the boxer, but this is boxing, not tap dance.

Agreed. He hadn't taken a clean headshot since the knock down, terrible stoppage. He took some good body shots but his guard did not budge.

I don't think Green was punching himself out, but he was going to be a bit lower on gas after that, and the next few rounds would have been intriguing.

What happens to Michael Watson if Roy Francis does not stop the Eubank fight because he is not punching back? that is the extent of the possible danger we are talking about.

If a fighter does not even attempt to throw a shot for 20/30second you auto assume that he is badly!! hurt.

Yeah, I think it was a little premature. Roy was covering up and catching some little punches on the inside and some body shots, nothing seemed really effective after the KD. But the thing is that Roy wasn't punching back at all, he held on once, but as usual he laid on the ropes with his guard up. Again, there was still no punches coming from him, none of the quick short hooks that he usually throws when in that position.

It was no where near premature.

Spot on if you ask me. Roy goes down and goes down hard. Gets up still dazed, Green pressures and overwhelms Roy for some time. Roy spent 30 seconds just surviving. While punches still seeped through his defense.

You obviously never taken a punch before... Roy was getting battered. He was getting hit with uppercuts, shots to the head and body. Did you see how his legs wobbled after he got up from the KD?

Yeah you cant spend that long on D after getting hurt and not fire back and expect the ref not to stop it.

Then Calzaghe/Manfredo wasn't an early stoppage either? I think Roy got cheated, ppl keep saying the punch was a temple shot but to me it looks like Green hit Roy in the back of the head. Isn't the temple of the head the side of the head not the back of it!
