I'm a Mayweather fan and have been for the about 14 years now, overall though I just think Pac has a better resume than Floyd, however, unlike most people, I think Pac's resume is better for what he did under 140, not the circus show Top Rank has pulled here lately.

Cool. I tend to give it to Mayweather. I think his Castillo wins, given the point in Castillo's career and the fact floyd moved up in weight was more impressive than any Manny win. Manny does have "better" names.

Yeah, some of his more recent wins are losing steam and he's not enhancing his legacy. I guess the manner in which a victory comes off would play a huge part in ranking--can't argue with that.

          Pacquiao vs Mayweather

You'd have go with Mayweather 60/40. It might be more in Mayweather's favour but there is no telling how he will adapt to Pacquiao's style, although thats probably me being optimist more than realistic. I dont like Mayweather at all lol

Ive seen Mayweather knocked out of his comfort zone before but he eventually adapted and went on to win. I expect the same here.

Whitaker used to struggle to get to grips with these awkward fighters like Poli Diaz, Gary Jacobs but once he worked them out he picked them apart. I know these guys are not on Pacquaio's level though

Anyone has a chance early in a fight if they can keep closing the gap but its what happens when they tire and are not able to press that gap as much. When that happens technical superiority usually shines threw imo.

I dont think Manny will lose wide though, well he might lose clearly but it will definitely be competitive because even the fights Manny has lost, besides his KO losses, were competitive fights, plus Manny has terrific stamina and Mayweather is not a particularly big puncher in my estimation.

If Mayweather beats Pac i still wont rank him above Pac historically. There is a bad match out there for all fighters, so winning a one of fight against a guy who has been proving himself consistently does not cut it for me. If you have 5 fights against top caliber fighters you have a greater chance of coming across a style nightmare, if you fight a guy who established himself as the best and beat him in a one of fight that does not do a lot for me.

          agreed with you on manny
when floyd beat him the media will say floyd was too big for him
instead of too smart or skilled

          what if floyd beat martinez?

I think where an opponent is in his career is important too. Like Manny fought Morales 3 times. The third fight is not as impressive given Morales loss to Raheem. Floyds win over Zab is reduced b/c of the loss to Baldo.

I mean Leon Spinks, Trevor Berbick, Larry Holmes and Joe Frazier all have a win over Muhammad Ali. But only frazier beat ALI. See what I'm sayin?

Not really. I don't rate Manny ahead of Floyd because of wins over Morales, for instance. In fact, he gets no credit from me for either win.

I can understand what your saying....and agree to an extent....Even if he did beat pac....he would try to use that by saying what he said before... I beat him, he beat him him and him...so that means im better than them all...

                  doesnt work like that

I wouldn't give Mayweather much credit for beating Manny either.

Manny is an long ago obvious top Rank created media hyped fighter. A Prune picker.

Arum, Roach, Floyd and Pac himself know deep down inside Manny doesn't stand a chance vs Mayweather..let alone in a fair fight.

Manny is ONLY Floyd's biggest payday to date.

Sergio Martinez is the biggest challenge for Floyd.

Pac and Floyd fans will both be highly upset that the megafight they waited so long to see ends in a complete schooling, one sided dominant victory for Floyd that numerous conspiracy theories will be flying out of everywhere.

Pac stands ZERO chance of beating Floyd. Manny knows.

See the recent Pac Mosely fight for proof of how bad Manny actually is and the blowout of Marquez by Floyd who Manny went life or death with and has to take a third fight with Marquez at 38 at an already proven by Floyd ineffective weight for Juan.

Manny is EASY WORK for Floyd. EASY. Like it or not.

i think after the mosley fight alot of people see that the only chance pac has is a ko... This is the reason for the threads saying manny is over the hill and all the excuses its like insurance.. The guy just looks plain average vs good boxers and excelent against flat footed warriors, hes a great fighter but like u said hes a media/top rank created beast... However floyd does deserve some credit if he beats the guy easily but id give him more credit for beating martinez
