But they are a holding company (or broker) and they operate just as any broker would. Your insurance agent doesn't provide the insurance, he just connects you with the company that does it, and he gets paid. MP works the same way.

So, it does "exist". Just like Phat Farm clothing line exists even though they are not owned by Russell Simmons. Russell doesn't have factories pumping out shirts. He contracts another company to do that. Similarly, MP contracts GBP to do all the legwork that they couldn't.
