The promoter makes way more then the fighter due to promoting multiple fighters and multiple cards. They don't neccisarily make more than the fighter on the biggest fight in recent history.

i knew the fight wouldn't happen this soon. roach aint ****** although he must feel ****** that mayweather called out his bluff but either way the fight will happen later then. sucks though i wanted the fight to happen on march, the sooner the better.

If the purse are 40 million and the gate does 15 million and the PPV revenue after networks take is 60 million you tell me how it works. I agree in the long haul the promoters make more money than the fighters. They are essentially the owners of a team for lack of a better comparison.

from everything i've read shaefer's role is to represent floyd in front of arum for negotiations so there wouldn't be any road blocks due to bad blood between arum and floyd/ellerbe. Shaefer said the same thing. I'm yet to see anything that states golden boy will be promoting this and i don't see why arum would even allow them to be part of the promotion. It would only cut their profit. They don't need GBP to make this fight. This fight is already huge before 1 dime has been spent to promote it. and i also don't think Ellerbe, floyd, haymen, or arum would want gbp promoting this. It only takes away from their profit. They don't need them.

GBP had rights to a couple of floyd's fight in part of the agreement they made when they negotiated dlh vs floyd. That already expired or was nullified after floyd mayweather retired. I don't think GBP holds any rights on floyd.

You have to keep in mind that Mayweather refuses to do business with Arum. That Mayweather Promotions does not even exist in reality outside of a logo.

Mayweather promotions was the supposed lead promoter in the PBF vs. Marquez fight. Mayweather promotions had to something to do with PBF vs. De la Hoya. Mayweather promotions is supposed to promote that young dude his uncle trains or used to train Johnathon Locke or something like that. It could be a shell company who knows but it is more than just a logo.
