Robinson and Ali too lost past their primes but they never got knocked around by an average fighter inside one round.
Agreed. Jones took punches well in his prime but, let's face it, he barely got hit. Can't have it all.

Finally, we can put the whole "He was coming down in weight" Nonsense to bed.

Roy IN HIS PRIME was knocked out by the mediocre Tarver and the mediocre Johnson.

Okay, cue plenty of responses filled with polemic and revisionist history.....
rjj should've never came down from HW...

moving up and down weight divisions is a bad idea.

even pwill won't come down for 147 unless its against a big name.

Well put. I still rate the Jones of 1990's of course. I've seen fighters come and go so it's not the first time I've seen a former great fall, even if it's in shocking fashion such as this. Never in a million years did I think Green would defeat even a 50 year old Jones. I guess I was wrong.

The likes of Green and Johnson wouldn't have stood a chance against a prime Jones though. But it doesn't matter. Jones should immediately retire before I see his name in the win column of every other top light heavyweight. At this point he simply cannot compete against legit opposition.

Roy was rarely hit flush in his prime
When he did get caught, he struggled making it to his feet
He's still a great, so don't get upset.

People who don't think Roy could ever take a punch never saw him take one in his prime. He shook off plenty of big shots.

There is no question except from haters that the move back down from heavyweight to light heavyweight f***** him up.
