When I saw the fight in the poor stream the shot didn't look like it hit hard. But after watching these clips Roy was out and didn't throw any punches to fight back. So good stoppage but sad to see my favorite boxer go out like that once again.Comment

Roy covered up wasn't taking any clean shots after the knock down, but he wasn't replying at all, did he even throw another punch after it? And just look at 2:16 in the video, the the ref breaks the clinch and pushes Roy back he's wobbles like he's gonna fall over. He was gone. Good stoppage and it was correctly timed, enough to allow Roy a chance to get back into it, he wasn't really getting hurt after the KD, but he just covered up and wouldn't throw anything back. Perhaps he might have been able to get his legs back under him had he made it until the end of the round, but the ref stopped it with a minute left, and there's no way any ref with common sense would allow Roy to just sit on the roped covering up while Green hammers him for a minute.Last edited by Grimmer; 12-02-2009, 07:39 AM.Comment

thought the stoppage was actually quite late, probably would have stopped it about 20 secs before, he was getting hammered and not throwing back. what a shame, don't see how he could beat Bernard on that performance, though it probably won't happen now.Comment

Poor Roy
Well that's what happens when you fight for too long. The first punch that hits you the wrong way makes you feel you are still in your prime, the rest of them don't do nothing to change that, case point -> Hollyfield.
Roy should retire.Comment

I agree with your post totally. I think Roy should have started with his hands up for the first few rounds at least.
Hey should have seen from Greens previous fights he is dangerous early.Comment
