Stepping stone to what? More broken hands, more crappy decision wins from a fighter who can't knock out a fly?
People who can't punch have no business in boxing.Comment

true, but when you have toatal punch stats that are that close, usually its an indication that the fight was still close, there are 12 rounds those numbers can be divided into. unless one fighter completely dominated the other gassed out/hurt fighter in a few of those rounds. diaz was neither and was always throwing back. here is a round by round picture http://www.badlefthook.com/2009/8/24...iaz-malignaggiComment

Diaz is pretty high up, but he doesnt have enough power to beat paulie, he should only be fighting at lightweight in my opinion. maybe timothy bradley next or nate campbell, i would like to see the winner of this fight vs khan, gives khan a chance to make a statement or gives the opponent a chance for more popularity.Comment

I'm hoping Diaz wins this, cuz I don't want there to be a rubber match in another neutral site if malignagi wins .just have a feeling that if Diaz loses HBO will waste another date for them for a very weak "trilogy".would like to see the winner face victor ortiz,Comment

Diaz might be high up .. but he's more known for what he's accomplished at Lightweight ... and this rematch w Paulie is again at Junior Welter
and I'd kind of like Diaz to win as well .... to stop the potential of a trilogy happening.
anyway
it could be a rematch vs Diaz, to win the series so to speak. but if not
Khan-Salita, Urango or the Peterson-Bradley winner ... maybe even Devon Alexander
but I don't see Paulie being able to beat any of the title holders .. so while beating Juan Diaz would be a good stepping stone
what is it exactly to? because I think Paulie will have his hands full with any of the belt holders at 140.
and Malignaggi himself was a pretty weak belt holder while he had his IBF title.Comment

I wouldn't mind a Bradley-Malignaggi fight after this. Neither guy has the best power in the world, but their styles (sharp boxer vs sharp slickster) should ensure a good match-up. I'd like to see it happen.
Providing, of course, that Bradley takes Peterson's "0" this weekend...Comment
